Elsewhere, where people live in the 21st century, Cosmetic Surgery is nothing to blush about. It’s all about looks, and well, it has been found out that life tends to favour the good looking.
If your genes didn’t give you the looks, the knife can, but at a cost of course. Let’s look at some of the most popular cosmetic procedures being done today;
10. Tummy tuck
Also known as Abdominoplasty. It involves the removal of excess skin and fat from the abdomen, stretching the skin tight over the stomach. The result is an impressively flat abdomen.
Abdominoplasty can be combined with liposuction and other fat removal surgeries. The full abdominoplasty is a procedure that lasts for about three hours.
In Liposuction, fat deposits are removed from specific body areas, such as the stomach, thighs, chest and hips. For some people, diet and exercise might not be enough.
Or, they might be too lazy. Fat is removed by inserting small thin tubes under the fat layer, which are connected to a large vacuum pump or suction syringe. Liposuction can be performed on several areas of the body at once.
8. Brow lift
A brow lift involves lifting the forehead skin to remove some of the tissue and muscle that lie under the skin to re-contour the face. People whose appearance is compromised because of drooping eyebrows, loose forehead or fatty eyebrows can opt for this procedure. This procedure takes close to two hours to complete.
7. Chin Augmentation
Chin augmentation involves the creation of a more proportionate face and a firmer chin line, using chin implants. An incision is made above the chin bone, and a chin implant is placed in the pocket that is created. The procedure takes about two hours to complete.
6. Nose Reshaping
Rhinoplasty involves reshaping the cartilage, bones and sometimes the soft nasal tissues of the nose. The nose size can be increased or reduced, and the nasal tip can be altered, bumps can be removed to make the nose straight and narrow.
In this procedure, excess skin, fat and muscle are removed from the lower and upper eyelids. The procedure reduces the puffy look and eyelid drooping and creates a more attractive appearance.
Removes eye bags due to ageing, genetic factors, sun exposure, pollution and other environmental factors, that could make your eyelids droop.
4. Facelift and Neck Lift
Rhytidectomy or facelift surgery involves removing excess skin from the face, neck and cheeks. The skin is lifted and re-draped tightly over the facial bones. The result is a younger, livelier look.
3. Breast Reduction
Breast reduction involves reducing the breast size in women. Also known as mammaplasty, it involves removing breast tissue, fat and skin, and moving the nipples and other tissues higher up on the chest.
The sides of the breasts are also trimmed down. The result are smaller, firmer breasts.
2. Breast Lift
Breast lift surgery is used to lift and firm the breasts, without increasing the size of the breasts. Also called mastopexy, this is performed to correct sagging or drooping breasts, which can occur owing to childbirth, breastfeeding and ageing.
1. Breast Augmentation
Medical implants usually made of silicone are inserted in the crease underneath the breasts to increase the bust size. These implants are made of silicone rubber shell filled either with silicone gel or saline solution.
The implants can be inserted under the breasts, through the armpits, or near the areola.
