Maid vanishes with two-year infant

Police are hunting for a house maid who is suspected of kidnapping a two-year old in Juru cell, Nyarutarama in Gasabo district Elizabeth Gatesi had been left in the care of the maid only identified as Claudine by the infant’s parents when they left for work. “The child was left in the care of the maid, and when the parents came back for lunch, they found the child and maid missing,” revealed John Uwamungu, the police spokesperson. Claudine, whose second name isn’t known, was last seen in a place known as Bannyahe in Kibagabaga also in Gasabo district. She had spent less than a month at the job. She is of a black complexion, medium build and has short hair. The maid’s home village is in Nyamasheke in the former Cyangungu province now Western Province. Uwamungu said anyone with information leading to the whereabouts of the maid or child should call 112, 0788311100 or 078831193. He warned that people shouldn’t employ domestic workers without finding out their complete details of identity. “It is hard to trace the worker in case something happens,” he said. Ends
