Plot: this is a drama tale about a mentally retarded man who, by a chance encounter with a homeless woman, fathers a perfectly normal and adorable baby girl.
He attempts to raise the girl on his own, but by the time she is seven years old, it is obvious that her IQ is higher than his. so, a social worker decides to that its best for the little girl to move to a foster home. But, Sam is just not ready to let go of his little girl...

Verdict: the movie tends to over-simplify a very complex issue. Indeed, it is a movie, because real life situations never would unfold like that.
