Paralympic referees certified

Five Rwandan referees and two others from Uganda and Kenya were awarded certificates that will enable them to officiate at regional Paralympic competitions like sitting volleyball and Goal ball.

Five Rwandan referees and two others from Uganda and Kenya were awarded certificates that will enable them to officiate at regional Paralympic competitions like sitting volleyball and Goal ball.

The five local referees are; Eric Gaju, Thomas Muzerwa, Rosette Umugwaneza, and Clarie Ineza and Janvier Habineza. The other two are Samuel Bukoma (Uganda) and Kenya’s Tabisha Chereno.

The seven officials were certified by the President of the World Organization Volleyball for Disabled Pierre Van Meeren, who was in the country last week to oversee the regional sitting volleyball World Cup qualifiers that were held in Kigali.

Egypt won the two day tourney after amassing 378 points and was followed by Rwanda and Kenya respectively.
