My brother and I, are always amused by our office neighbors. Our office is in a new building and coincidentally, almost all the tenants including ourselves are operating new businesses.
While we try our best to make sure that we use the optimum working hours so as not to miss even a single client, our neighbors close for two hours everyday, to go for lunch in the nearby restaurants.
One of them dared us to ask why we never go for lunch- we told her that we usually snack during lunch, the lady told us openly that she cannot do without proper lunch. Of course looking at me, nobody would believe that most of the weekdays I only eat once, and that is during dinner when am home with my family.
Why I have no need to close my office for two hours, just because I want to eat, is because by the time I come back to the office all the food I had gone to eat would have been spent on the energy used to walk, while at the same time, I would have wasted a lot of time which I could use to do my work and serve my clients.
So, instead I carry my packed snacks from home everyday to work, of which again my neighbor told me, she can’t stand people looking at her conspicuously carrying food to the office. I laughed at how green people are in my country.
Having some snack in the office helps me save on time, which makes me meet deadlines on my different projects that I handle. I have decided to enlighten a little bit on how one can save on time and money, plus adding value to one’s health by eating healthy snacks at work without having to step out of your desk.
There are two types of snacking, one is healthy and the other is unhealthy. Unhealthy snacking means eating everything which is good looking like the French fries but dangerous to our health because we are left with no option , while healthy snacking is eating healthy foods like the fruits and salads. Let us classify the healthy foods that are simple to prepare, and can be easily packed for lunch and be carried to work.
