We are what we eat, so we are told. So have you ever thought of eating anything else besides what you have been always eating? Well I was shocked few days ago when I was watching television and in a neighboring country a group of people had invaded the game parks and started slaughtering the giraffes all in the name of making money through cheating a common person that is beef meat. Since many of us do not know how to differentiate between the meats by just looking at them, I have taken it upon myself to show you the different types of meat that are commonly eaten, and how to prepare them.

Since many of us do not know how to differentiate between the meats by just looking at them, I have taken it upon myself to show you the different types of meat that are commonly eaten, and how to prepare them.

When it comes to creating meals that are made of some type of meat, there are a number of possibilities for the type of meat that can be used.  In the end, your final decision boils down to your preference and what you think will be the best solution.

Some of the many types of meats available today are beef, pork, chicken, mutton and goat meat.  These are just a few of the more popular choices for selecting meat to be using in preparing meals.  This article will briefly describe each one.

Beef is one of the most popular types of meat around the world. Beef, which comes from the cow is considered to be the most popular choice of all red meats, it can be used in thousands of different recipes where meat is one of the main ingredients.

From casseroles, lasagna, to chili, hamburgers, and steak, beef is one of the most recognized meats in just about every restaurant menu, cookbook, or online recipe that you’ll find today

Pork is also another very popular type of meat throughout the world today and is seen on menus and in cookbooks all over the globe.

Pork, which comes from the pig, is considered to be healthier than beef because it is less fatty and typically is leaner than beef.

Pork can be used in many of the recipes that call for beef and can be considered a substitute for beef by those who do not enjoy beef for whatever reason that may be.

There are some types of meat which are considered to be more specialized because of the lower numbers with regard to consumption.

These types of meat are considered to be more exotic because they are harder to come by and are not typically found on the average restaurant menu.  Some of these types of meat include mutton and goat meat. 

There are many different types of meat available throughout the world today that are part of every recipe that you can imagine.

Whether your preference is for beef, pork, chicken, or another type of specialty meat, you’ll be sure to have the requirements covered for any type of recipe that you may be looking to prepare

Chicken, considered to be poultry, is another type of meat that is consumed world wide and can be found in just about every type of dish that you can think of.  Chicken is very diverse in that it can be served with just about any type of meal, regardless of whether or not it is a Chinese, African, Brazilian, American, or Japanese recipe.

It is considered white meat and also found to be a very healthy type of meat and if prepared correctly, can help you achieve a healthy lifestyle with regard to your eating habits and diet.

Fish is one of the most versatile foods. It can be cooked and prepared in a wide variety of different ways, tasting equally fantastic on its own or combined with other ingredients.

One of the greatest advantages of cooking fish is the speed in which nutritious meals can be prepared. Fish requires very little cooking time which ever cooking method is used.

All the above meats can be prepared as follows;

Stewed meats

Stewing is excellent for tougher cuts, flank or shoulder cuts, or any time you buy meat chopped into smallish pieces.

Sautéed meats

Thin cuts of meat (no more than one inch thick) are suitable for sautéing. To sauté meat, preheat a pan and add a small amount of oil.

Pat the meat with a paper towel, then place in the pan. Brown both sides and cook meat until it reaches 160 degrees F for medium or 170 degrees F for well done.
Roasted lamb

Pork  chops, chicken or mutton are well suited to roasting, and leg of lamb First, sear the meat in a pan, then baste with oil and place fat side up in a preheated oven. Slow roast the meat, baking at 212 to 325 degrees F.

To prevent drying, periodically baste the meat in pan juices. Allow the meat to rest for at least 15 minutes before serving.

Grilled lamb

fish and chicken is well prepared when grilled. Marinate the chicken pieces then place on a flat pan and put it in oven in slow heat for about an hour.

As for the fish, take the whole fish clean it then stuff it with onions and some garlic then place it in the oven in a slow heat for 30 minutes each side to take at least 15 minutes to get ready. Serve it with Ugali, rice or even fried potatoes.
