Being active in your free time will surely make you one happy child.
By definition, activity is anything you can get involved in during your free time. These activities are mainly games, sports like football, athletics, table tennis, cricket, and crafts like painting and drawings.
Music and drama too can be interesting as you learn new song and plays during your free time.
Twelve year-old Claudine Mahoro, a P.6 pupil at Kigali Parents School said, “I meet new friends who share the same interest in games like me. I enjoy interacting with them.”
Richard Wamungu, is 11 years old and said that he is always encouraged by his friends and elder brothers to keep exercising.
“I play football because most of my friends enjoy the game. Before we start, it’s a rule that we must warm-up our bodies by running round the play ground,” Wamungu said.
He also believes that doing physical exercises will keep him healthy and strong.
“I am sure that exercise is the reason I rarely get sick,” Wamungu said.
Getting involved in different activities is not a waste of time. These activities help children to discover their talents and relax their minds especially. It is through being active that you can meet and make new friends, as you develop your talents.
