President Paul Kagame this morning arrived in Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa for the 19th Session of the African Union that will be held under the theme; “Boosting Intra African Trade" which also aims to build upon the commitment of all nations to achieve integration, economic growth and development.
It is expected that the Head of State, together with his counterparts from the continent will participate in a closed session for voting the Chairman of the African Union Commission Chairman.
According to a statement from the Office of the President, while in Addis, he will also meet with other heads of state of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region following the meetings of foreign ministers of ICGLR.
The ICGLR meetings mainly centered on the ongoing conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
President Kagame is also scheduled to hold several bilateral meetings with counterparts from the continent and among these, it is expected that he will hold talks with his Congolese counterpart, Joseph Kabila.
