Jean Pierre Coco is a staff of Heaven Restaurant, one of Kigali’s newest, but already famous restaurants, situated in Kiyovu, near the National Bank of Rwanda (BNR). For restaurant managers, clients are our major priority. So, my weekend can only be perfect if my clients are catered for according to their expectations.The kind of work I do does not allow for much of a weekend, no time for relaxing or hanging out with friends.
Heaven Restaurant gets particularly busy during weekends as that’s when many people get time to hangout and share meals with their close ones.
Therefore, my ‘weekend’ is usually on Tuesdays, because that’s when the restaurant is closed.I only get one day in a week, but it’s great for me! I make sure I utilise each and every single second.
I get plenty of rest and visit my relatives and friends, though obviously it’s not that easy as many of them are working. I love spending some good time hanging out with friends. And for that matter, provided I have time, I’m not one to miss out on a party.
Usually, on Tuesdays, I spare sometime to do some cooking. As a manager of a restaurant, I must be honest that I’m a good cook..I have an idea at least of how each dish is prepared. My favourite dish is plain Irish potatoes with beans and pastas.
