The African National Congress, the party of Mandela, Govan Mbeki and Oliver Tambo, is now being led by Jacob Zuma, who was a few days ago, sworn in as the third black president of South Africa.
While I will not pretend that I wasn’t disappointed in his conduct (the fact that he had sexual relations with an Hiv-positive woman, and then took a cold shower, supposedly as a means of ‘washing’ of the virus) and all those corruption cases, we, as Africans must throw our weight behind him as he attempts to push South Africa forward.
As Africa’s number one economic giant, it’s in our own interest that his administration keeps moving South Africa forward.
If he does it right, then more South African investment will trickle into all other African economies.
So, despite all his past baggage, his is the only game in town and he needs all our good wishes.
