FOLLOWING Friday’s goalless draw against Musanze, ten-time league champions APR must defeat Police to reach the semi-finals of the Pre-season football tournament this afternoon at Amahoro stadium.

The champions failed to hit the net against newly promoted Musanze despite dominating the game’s proceedings.

The army side were even awarded a penalty in the dying minutes but new signing Bebeto Lwamba hit the woodwork.
APR must now grind out a win against Police, who humbled Musanze 4-2 in Group A‘s opening fixture.

It has not been an easy ride for the giants as Atraco and Rayon Sport also suffered shock defeats.

Atraco succumbed to a 1-0 defeat against Etincelles while Rayon also went down in similar fashion against Amagaju.

This result coupled with a 3-2 victory over Mukura earlier this week moved Etincelles on top of Group B.

Amagaju are also atop Group C with six points after wins over Rayon (1-0) and Marines (5-0).

In Group D, SC Kiyovu’s semi-final chances depend on today’s clash between AS Kigali and Electrogaz.

With four points to their name, AS Kigali are praying that AS Kigali don’t win.AS Kigali need to win by a big margin to qualify for the semis.
