Peter Bagabo a.k.a Rooney is a model with New Fashion in Butare, Southern Province. He says his first target is to expose Rwandan music. He says he always advises artists on how to dress before a performance. Below are excerpts from a chat with The Sunday Times (TST):
TST: What can you say about our music?
Rooney: It’s great
TST: What line can you draw between old Rwandan music and young Rwandan music?
Rooney: There is a small difference. The old musicians always had a message in their music unlike the younger generation.
TST: How do you help artists?
Rooney: I give some ideas, even some money to artists who want to be helped, but not always.
TST: How do you dress an artist?
Rooney: It depends on their tastes.
TST: Where do you see our music in one year?
Rooney: First of all, we need to create a fan club for our music. This will bring better changes.
TST: Say something to fans.
Rooney: They have to support our music.
TST: To presenters?
Rooney: They, especially those who are artists and presenters, should give self-promotion up then our music industry will be built. But I can not prevent myself from saying thanks to them because of the effort that they try to put in.
TST: Do you have girl friend?
Rooney: Yes, of course…man! (Laughs)
TST: Thank you Rooney.
Rooney: I thank you too.
