GET INSPIRED: Self-belief is a secret key to all the success ever thought of. Self-belief and goals are compatible to the extent that no single dream can ever be achieved without believing in ourselves. The reverse dictionary defines self-belief as confidence in one’s own ability or judgment. Much as all people have the ability and judgment to achieve whatever they wish for in life, confidence in going for it has been the lingering problem. “Millions of people do not believe in themselves enough to achieve their dreams or goals. They giveup far too soon or they even give up when the goal is in their grasp,” once said John Watson a London Based Professor. Believing that we don’t deserve success or lack the necessary ability has stopped us from even trying! To many, even the smallest effort has turned out to be a waste of time because some where in the middle of the road we have felt like we can never make it. “Looking at our selves, at times our family background, our weaknesses has always emerged faster than looking at our capacity in doing achievable things,” says Aaron Kalisa, a pastor. Yes, when it comes to self-belief, the negative side has always overtaken the positive one. “I realize I have been destroying my positive self-image by focusing on the failures and ignobility of my life,” an anonymous person said. He posted this on Wikipedia thinking anyone would come up with a solution for him, only to realize that it was almost everyone’s problem. Though Self-belief is the primary step in getting what we lack and keeping what we have, it’s almost impossible to have confidence in ourselves. Especially when the task involves risks, very few can believe in being successful by themselves. Then how can we solve the lack of self-belief especially that it helps us discover the huge power within us?It’s human for everyone to have fears, insecurities and threats. To overcome all this and to believe ourselves for the better starts with thoroughly examining ourselves on a personal basis. Consquently, we don’t exactly know who we are. We let people judge and perhaps decide for us who we should be, what we are capable of and what we can’t do. This doesn’t only kill our self confidence; it all ruins us of the effort o reach for what we want. To any one with a future, truly analyzing and identifying their strengths and weaknesses is necessary in building their confidence. Another important step is working towards changing what’s negative in us. It might be our charactor, the way we relate with people or the way we present ourselves. The more you change to positively, the more you’ll be able to like and appreciate your newself. This way you’ll not deprive yourself of what you deserve. Negativity is also a barrier to self-belief. Remember no one is perfect. Though you haven’t been a perfect person, you can do things perfectly. People have always lost the courage in themselves because of their past. Though everyone has a past, very few are proud of their past. Instead of moaning over spilt milk, just set a pace, forgive yourself and start afresh towards your goals. Afterall you can never change anything about the past.It’s also important that we believe in our selves anyway we are. Be sure that its you and you alone. However much you have friends, you will spend your whole live with you alone. Just picture a scene when there is no one to help you decide, will you die because of that?
