RAYON SPORTS Volleyball club captain Eric Nsabimana a.k.a Machine has announced he will call time on his a glittering career next month.
He says that will allow him time to pursue his Masters degree abroad.
The former national team captain turns 31 on August 11.
Nsabimana, the 1.87m former National University of Rwanda skipper, is due to begin his Masters’ degree programme in Urban Planning and Management next month in the Netherlands.
He confirmed his retirement plans in an interview with Times Sport on Tuesday. “I’m planning to retire from professional volleyball because I’ll be going overseas for further education at the end of September.”
However, he said he will continue to closely follow the local volleyball and providing whatever contribution he may afford for the good of the game.
Formerly with Amasata, KVC and NUR, Nsabimana has won four league titles (2004, 2006, 2010 and 2013), all with NUR.
Nsabimana, regarded as one of the greats in Rwandan volleyball, joined newly formed Rayon Sports earlier this year, leading the Blues to the Genocide memorial tournament title in June, after beating APR 3-0.
