FORMER APR FC head coach Andreas Spier has been appointed new Romanian Under-18 team head coach after parting ways with the military side early this year.

He took over APR’s hot sit in March 2013 with six league matches remaining in the 2012/2013 season following the club’s elimination from Caf Champions League under Coach Eric Nshimiyimana.

The former Romanian rapid Bucharest player Andreas Spier surprisingly quit the three-time Cecafa Kagame cup champions ten days after he was handed a five-match ban by the club’s own management due to misconduct during the military side’s goalless draw against AS Kigali on February 3 at Stade de Kigali.

The German-born Spier who resigned from APR FC’s coaching role on February 12, left the military side on top of the league table standings with 40 points, three ahead of archrivals Rayon sports.

The military side under interim coach Vincent Mashami went on to win both the league and Peace Cup titles.

The 51-year-old UEFA Pro license holder was put in charge of the Romanian U18 on July 8 replacing Doru Isaac who was promoted to U19 team head coach.
