Members of the Rotary Club of Kigali-Virunga (RCKV) have inducted new leaders and members.
The 14th annual induction ceremony of the club was held in Kigali this week. Several Rotarians were awarded for their exemplary service in the previous year.
Outgoing president Binu Malayil Tharian Thomas highlighted the club’s successes during his reign.
“We are ending this year as a better and stronger club,” he said.
Club members were commended for their organisation during the joint Walk to Remember by the Rotary family in Rwanda where all the five Rotary clubs in the country participated in the commemoration of the Genocide against the Tutsi and agreed to make this an annual event.
The outgoing club president also had kind words for his successor, Russel Mushanga, whom he described as a gentleman with ability to motivate others.
The newly installed president of the Rotary Club of Virunga, Russel Mushanga, who is also the Country Director of Food For the Hungry, Rwanda, thanked all those present for entrusting him with the duty of steering the club for the next one year.
He pledged to continue from where his predecessors had stopped and grow the spirit and numbership of the club.
