APR, NUR face off in Handball league

National University of Rwanda (NUR) host APR in the handball league on Saturday after a three months break.

National University of Rwanda (NUR) host APR in the handball league on Saturday after a three months break.

NUR have not been active in the league since June due to school holidays.

“We have prepared for the game very well and hopefully we will win,” APR head coach Jean Marie Vianey Munyandongo said on Friday.

He added, “History favours us. We have a good record against NUR in recent years and hope to continue with the trend come Saturday.”

APR last won the league in 2010, while NUR won it in 2001 and 2005.

The other matches will be played on Sunday when defending champions Police take on Groupe Scolaire Rambura, while Gicumbi will be up against visiting Ruhango-based Kigoma Secondary School.

Gicumbi top the table with 30 points, three ahead of Police, while APR are in third place with 25; ES Kigoma are in fourth with 23 points.
