WESTERN PROVINCE-BASED Espoir Football Club will use a budget of Rwf60m in the upcoming Primus National Football League season which starts on September 21,  head coach Emmanuel Ruremesha said recently.

Ruremesha, who was appointed immediately after the end of last season, is buoyant that his team will achieve its  targets.

The former Kibuye, Atraco, Mukura, Rayon Sports and La Jeunesse coach wants to sign at least five more players before the season starts.

“The budget is not as big as what other teams have, but because the people of this area (Rusizi) love their team, they will always contribute something towards making it better, so I am not worried at all,” he said recently as Espoir started pre-season training.

He added, “We are in talks with some players, who I cannot reveal right now but everything will be sorted out in the coming days and weeks.”

The team’s main sponsor is Rusizi District but Ruremesha noted that the club management is looking elsewhere for more funds to supplement what they get from the district.

So far, the club has signed striker Andres Lomani from La Jeunesse and goalie Bate Shamilu from SC Kiyovu.

The team also extended the contract of six senior players including; former Amavubi Stars forward Saidi Abedi Makasi, ex-Rayon Sports defender Aimable Rucogoza, Clement Mukunzi, Jacques Uwimana, DR Congo-born Govin Motombo.
