Amavubi Stars first choice goalkeeper Jean-Claude Ndoli has been ruled out of the team’s upcoming engagements against Malawi and Benin through suspension.

Rwanda hosts The Flames in an international friendly next week before heading to Porto-Novo to take on Benin in a Group H clash in the 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifiers.

According to team manager Alfred Ngarambe, Ndoli accumulated two yellow cards against Mali and Algeria in March and June.

“He picked up a yellow in the last two World Cup qualifiers against Mali and Algeria which is why the coach has left him out of the upcoming friendly match against Malawi,” said Ngarambe.

Because he won’t feature against Benin, Amavubi head coach Eric Nshimiyimana has decided to leave out the experienced APR goalkeeper out of his 21-man squad summoned yesterday to face Malawi in Kigali on Wednesday.

The other notable absentee for next week’s game include strikers Meddie Kagere, who  has been left out so that he can concentrate on looking for a new club and Michel Ndahinduka, who is with APR in the on-going EAC Military Games in Nairobi, Kenya.

The others are Jean Baptist Mugiraneza and Patrick Sibomana, who are also on club duty with APR.

Returns

Newly signed Police Fc defender Gabriel Mugabo returns to Amavubi fold after three years.

He was last summoned during the 2011 Cecafa Challenge Cup in Dar es Salaam but didn’t feature following a mysterious illness that forced him to leave camp and he has never been called up again.

New faces

The former APR coach has summoned Police rocky defender Amani Uwilingiyimana and Mohamed Mpozembizi, a defender with Primus league side Musanze FC.

Pros

Young Africans starlet Haruna Niyonzima is the only professional player summoned for next week’s international friendly.

Despite being on form for their clubs, Olivier Karekezi [AC Bizertin], Mbuyu Twite [Yanga] and Dady Birori [AS Vita] have all been left out of Nshimiyimana’s plans.
