Four-time Rwandan women football league champions, AS Kigali are targeting a fifth title in a row without dropping a single point.

AS Kigali has been the dominating side in Rwandan women football since the 2008/2009 season, winning four league titles consecutively and are close to making a record extending five.

Possibly this season, Grace Nyinawumuntu’s side could make further history by winning the league title with maximum league points as they have so far collected 45 points from the 15 matches played.

The defending champions eased to an 8-0 win over Imirasire on Saturday to maintain their 12 points lead over the second-placed The Winners.

Head coach Nyinawumuntu said, “We are 90% favourites to win the league title. We still have five more games to play in which we only need four points to retain the title.”

“We have been more consistent this season which is why out target is not to drop even a single point in our remaining five games and I think together with my players and staff we are going to make it,” added Rwanda’s most successful women football coach.

In their next game, AS Kigali will take Urumuri, who have only managed 3 points from 15 and sit on the bottom of the 11-team table standing.
