Rwanda will always be part of me, says Micho

After being sacked as Amavubi Stars head coach last week, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic says that Rwanda will always have a place in his life, Times Sport reports.The Rwanda football governing body, Ferwafa, on Wednesday announced they had “taken the decision to terminate Micho’s contract because of poor performances.”Now the 43-year-old Serbian, whose contract with Rwanda was due to expire this October, is working with his legal advisers and Ferwafa to see to an “amicable end to the story.”And Micho insists he has no regrets. “I want to say that I have life contract with Rwanda because Rwandans and Rwandan football were my friends even before my contract on the paper.” “I gave all I could to the Amavubi cause, and tried to help the team to be on top level, and I will always be a friend of Rwanda,” noted the man, who managed just one win in 15 international matches. He drew four and lost the other nine matches.He added: “I have been a loyal servant and soldier during the last 18 months in charge of Amavubi. And I will retain very good human and football relations with Rwanda, Rwandans and football in Rwanda forever.” Micho was replaced by his assistantEric Nshimiyimana, who will be assisted by former Rayon Sport and Kiyovu coach Jean Baptist Kayiranga.Micho replaced Ghanaian Sellas Tetteh in 2011 and oversaw a faltering 2014 World Cup campaign leaving and Rwanda at the bottom of their group with a single point from three qualifiers.
