African teams get tough WC opponents

ALGIERS – The conclusion of the African Youth Championships in Algeria mean that all four continental representatives now know who they face in the coming World Youth Championships in Turkey.

ALGIERS – The conclusion of the African Youth Championships in Algeria mean that all four continental representatives now know who they face in the coming World Youth Championships in Turkey.

Ghana’s Black Satellites have been drawn against European Under 19 champions Spain, while Nigeria would have to contend with Portugal and Egypt will have to go past England. Mali have to deal with Mexico if they are to go far.

The 2013 Fifa Under 20 World Cup in Turkey kicks off in under three months’ time.

The final draw for the tournament was done immediately Egypt beat Ghana 5-4 on penalties in the African Youth Championship final in Algeria on Saturday night.

Group A: France, Spain, Ghana, United States
Group B: Portugal, Nigeria, South Korea, Cuba
Group C: Turkey, Australia, El Salvador, Colombia
Group D: Mexico, Paraguay, Greece, Mali
Group E: Chile, England, Egypt, Iraq
Group F: Uruguay, Croatia, New Zealand, Uzbekistan
