Editor,

I was delighted to read the article titled “Rwanda tourism , beauty showcased in Holland.” (The New Times dated 13 March).

Please allow me to share with your esteemed readers that India Week 2013, which is scheduled to take place in Kigali, end May, 2013 will showcase Rwanda’s tourism, culture, beauty and business to the over 100 Indian visitors who will arrive into the country as part of this special event.

There will be a host of activities including a business seminar, business to business meetings, an International Youth Forum, a Women Empowerment Forum, an exclusive seminar on “Bollywood meets Hillywood“, an Indo - Rwandan Football match, and even a “Study Rwanda Programme” which will highlight the giant strides made by this great nation over the last 19 years after the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

A programme on “Umuganda” will also be part of the activities so as to showcase how with the right approach, the capital Kigali, has turned into one of the safest and cleanest cities not just in Africa but the world.

We have received tremendous support from the various agencies in Rwanda as well as many Chambers of Commerce in India.

At a recent event organised in Pune, India, the Rwanda Students Association in that city showcased the rich Rwandan culture to one and all.
