The U-21 national volleyball team return to action on Tuesday against Sierra Leone after losing their second match against Tunisia at the ongoing Junior Africa Championships on Sunday.

Paul Bitok’s team was well beaten 3-0 (25-13, 25-15 and 25-17) by the hosts  and tournament favourites, a results that jeopardises Rwanda’s hopes of achieving their target of finishing  in top four so as to qualify for the World Championships in Mexico.

Rwanda started the tournament well after beating Congo Brazzaville 3-0. Despite losing against Tunisia, Bitok remains optimistic about his team’s chances in next matches, starting today against Sierra Leone, who were also beat 3-0 by Algeria on Sunday.

Rwanda end their group stage campaign with another one of the tournament favourites Algeria on Wednesday.
