National Football League side Marines FC have released seven players deemed surplus to requirements, club chairman Colonel Theodomire Bahizi confirmed to Times Sport.

The players include Jean de Dieu Mutabazi, Ibrahim Nshimiyimana, Rashid Kalisa, Jackson Iyakaremye, Aboubacar Nshimiyimana, Milly Hassan and Olivier Ndakize.

“After the first round, we sat down with the coach and assessed every player and the seven were found to be lacking what the coach needs to improve the team for the second round, especially that we’re in the relegation zone,” said Colonel Bahizi.

Three of the seven players Mutabazi, Ibrahim Nshimiyimana and Kalisa were on loan from APR.
