TRADITIONAL archrivals Rayon Sport and SC Kiyovu lock horns in a match aimed at raising financial support for their former striker this afternoon at Stade de Kigali.

Jean Chrysostom Sembagare played for Kiyovu junior team before moving to Rayon Sport in 1986, where he played until 1994 when he retired.

Recently, Sembagare collapsed near his home in Nyakabanda sector, Nyamirambo damaging his pelvis bone. He needs Rwf3 million to enable him undergo an operation at King Faycal hospital.

Rayon Sports’ Secretary General Olivier Gakwaya said in a telephone interview yesterday, “Sembagare played a key role for both clubs and we are trying to find a way to assist him get proper treatment. This is everyone’s concern and we expect many people to come out and help.”

“On top of that, he played for the national football team, from 1990 to 1994, so we can’t let him down. We need to help him because he once rendered his services to our clubs and nation,” added Gakwaya.
