“The major discussion of the workshop will be based on the principle basis on monitoring and reporting on violation of human rights,” Nkusi explained.
“By this workshop, we are trying to reach out to the people out there so that they know their rights and they are not violated,” he added.
December 10th 2008, is going to be the 60th anniversary in honour of the United Nations General Assembly’s proclamation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).
Kabare, explained that they are preparing for the day by figuring out best methods and strategies of fighting human rights violators and to see that the rate of human rights violations are minimal.
When asked what they are expecting out of the workshop, James Mugarura, one of the participants disclosed that they are planning to reach those who don’t know about their rights.
“We think in the next two days we will have acquired a lot of ideas on how to overcome the problem of human rights violations,” He said.
