I must salute the efforts so far started by the new governor of eastern region. He has put in practice some of developmental programs that had remained a myth for ages.
The region’s towns are under strict orders to keep clean and organised for the betterment of residences and the entire region.
It is only when actions are realised that one can claim to be doing changes. We can have a lot of paper work and indeed most developing nations have had enough, but the problem is always in implementations.
I you went to Kayonza today, you would be astonished by the silence in the usual busy place.
The reason is one; all trading joints were closed and business people ordered to renovate and make their shops and restaurants fit to give services.
Such actions go with a lot of criticism but the reality is that we (people) need to work under agreed hygienic conditions. We can no longer afford to have restaurants or bars that remain to be the source of diseases like amoeba and others.
It is not acceptable and whoever is not happy with the decision, should think twice.
The action taken by authorities is supported by many and should actually be pushed to all other towns in the region and in the whole country at large.
