Education Ministry’s inspection officials should rein in errant teachers

Editor,

Allow me through your newspaper to appeal to the Ministry of Education especially to its inspection department to investigate claims by students that some teachers miss classes which in turn affects their performance and compromises the education quality too. It is further regrettable to hear students complain that some teachers go to class when inebriated. Thus the ministry’s inspection department should be more observant and discipline such errant teachers. In any case, we cannot afford to compromise educations standards as our country aims to become a middle income nation in less than a decade.
