Rwanda’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Vincent Karega has called upon members of the Diaspora to unite for the good of their nation and put aside any differences among them.

Karega made the remarks while addressing a Diaspora meeting that drew over 250 Rwandans living in South Africa.

The theme of this meeting was, ‘United we win, Divided we fall’. The meeting brought together students, professionals, business operators and Rwandan refugees in South Africa.

During the course of the meeting, video projections on pertinent issues of Rwanda were shown. Videos on the path of Vision 2020, Rwanda’s development as well as the purpose of the cessation clause were presented to the public.

Karega urged the Diaspora to live in solidarity and work together to improve their wellbeing, and above all keep up their dignity. He reiterated the High Commission’s support to such endeavours.

The High Commission intends to organise similar meetings in two other South African cities- Cape Town and Durban - as well as Maputo, the capital city of Mozambique.
