War on drug abuse everybody’s responsibility

Editor,

This is an appeal to the general public to collectively wage war against drugs and eliminate the menace. Every evening, I have encountered a group of young people near Greenwich Hotel towards Remera smoking marijuana. However, what is beyond belief is that no bystander seems bothered.

I think the best way to effectively fight against drugs is to combine efforts. This is also a challenge to our law enforcers to swing into action to apprehend the offenders in Remera.

We can neither have a moral society nor realise our national development goals when our youth engage in drugs. As a concerned citizen, it is my appeal that the government strengthens community policing to curb the vice.
