Editor,

This letter is in reference to the lead story in Saturday's issue of The New Times titled “New Gov't sworn-in."

Over the last eleven years the country has seen tremendous progress, while Bernard Makuza steered the Government as Prime Minister. His immense contribution needs to be applauded.

I had the pleasure of meeting Makuza twice - first way back in November 2003 at the World Travel Market, London and more recently in August 2011 during my visit to Rwanda. He has always been very approachable person and ever willing to help. I wish Makuza every success in his new role as Senator.

I would also like to wish the new Prime Minister, Pierre Damien Habumuremyi and his new Government every success in taking the new Rwanda to even greater heights.
