I read with keen interest, your story titled" Rwandan dons wind up US varsities tour. "
Th Minister of Education, Pierre Damien Habumuremyi led a delegation of Rwandan scholars to the United States . Just last week, there were 80 students in Mumbai and another 80 students in New Delhi from different universities in the United Kingdom, who concluded an amazing three week " Study India Program"
While we do have many Rwandan students studying different courses in Indian universities spread over many states in India, we would be delighted to receive, at our Chamber, a delegation led by the Minister of Education or other senior officials from his Ministry.
The Indian Merchants' Chamber, a 104-year old premier Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has a dedicated "Education Committee" which is chaired by none other than a former Vice- Chancellor of a leading university. Should there be interest from the Ministry of Education or any university or organisation in Rwanda willing to visit India, our Chamber shall be delighted to co-ordinate and facilitate such a visit to several universities in our country.
A delegation like the one that visited the US would also attract immense publicity in India and would surely enhance trade, tourism and investments into Rwanda.
We have already received, at our Chamber, several student delegations from the United States, United Kingdom, many European countries and also from many Asian countries. Why not from Rwanda, this beautiful land of a thousand hills, a million smiles and more importantly, a land of great opportunities?
