Editor,

Airtel’s entry to Rwanda’s telecom market is indeed gratifying news.

We must applaud Sunil Bharti Mittal, Chairman and Director of Bharti Airtel, the Indian- based telecom giant, for taking the decision to enter the lucrative Rwandan market.

To have the world’s fifth largest telecommunication company expand its footprints to Rwanda and announce an investment of US$100 million is a monumental investment that demonstrates investor confidence in the country.

Kudos to Ignace Gatare , Rwanda’s ICT Minister and his team for facilitating this deal.

India - here we come! Yes, it is very encouraging to see more and more

Indian companies enter this beautiful country. We must appreciate the tremendous effort put in by the Rwanda Development Board and the Rwanda High Commission in New Delhi for effectively marketing Rwanda - the land of a thousand hills and a million smiles. And, if I may add, the land of great opportunities!
