Local schools to start EAC Games preps

Rwanda’s representatives at the 10th East African post primary competition will start training next week according to the Executive Secretary of the Schools Sports Federation Florent Rwigema.The Games will run from August 27 to September 4 in the Ugandan town of Mbarara.

The Games will run from August 27 to September 4 in the Ugandan town of Mbarara. 

Rwanda will compete in seven disciplines; basketball, football, volleyball, netball, handball, rugby and athletics.

Over 60 schools from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, Zanzibar and Southern Sudan will take part in the week long competitions.

Last year, Rwanda finished third overall despite winning the girls’ volleyball title.
