This letter is with reference to your interesting editorial in yesterday’s Sunday Times titled: “Liberation struggle should be an inspiration."Yes, very rightly so, and it is appropriate to salute the Rwandan flag on Liberation Day today.
While we bow our heads with reverence in memory of all those who were brutally killed during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, we must appreciate and applaud His Excellency President Paul Kagame, the Government and the people of Rwanda for bringing about a total transformation in this beautiful nation over the last 17 years.
We must also condemn all individuals, groups of people and organisations who harbour anti-national ideas and might want to disrupt the peace and tranquility of the country with terrorist and other disruptive activities.
We must pray that God enlightens all of them to discard such thoughts and that they come back into the mainstream of Rwandan society. After all, more things are wrought by prayer than this world can think of.
Wishing all Rwandans a happy Liberation Day!
