A lot has been said regarding the construction of permanent business structures for the hawkers in a bid to reduce chaos and human traffic within the city. The KCC leaders had promised that by June, this year, hawking would be a thing of the past.
However, when you move through the streets of Kigali, the hawkers don’t seem to be going anywhere; instead they are growing in numbers day by day.
Of course, the move by KCC to have all hawkers leave the city and build them permanent structures will help in maintaining order and cleanliness in the city and must be supported.
I am writing to request KCC to speed up the process so that we have a more organized city.
