Sports development is the way forward

Editor, Through your paper, I would like to share my thoughts on the performance of the under 17 soccer team at the World Cup in Mexico. It is definitely difficult to take in the fact that the team will not go beyond the group stages. However, after reflection, their mere participation is a dream come true. Who would have guessed that the team would even qualify? Secondly, there are many tournaments/opportunities in the future.

Editor,

Through your paper, I would like to share my thoughts on the performance of the under 17 soccer team at the World Cup in Mexico. It is definitely difficult to take in the fact that the team will not go beyond the group stages.

However, after reflection, their mere participation is a dream come true. Who would have guessed that the team would even qualify? Secondly, there are many tournaments/opportunities in the future.

The experience from Mexico, will go a long way in sports development in the country. The lessons learned will, in the end, turnout to be valuable to not only football, but other sports as well.

The boys showed that with preparation, planning and a long term vision, one can achieve their goals. Let’s not despair, but  gain hope and plot for the next tournaments.
