The long-awaited play, "Iraha ryakanya ritamar’ipfa" ("Short time enjoyment does not guarantee long time happiness") has been finally launched.
On Friday at Hotel Novotel Umubano, fans opened their eyes wide and screamed with joy when Aimable Kubana delivered nothing less than pure energy, sensuality and charisma to fuel the audience’s excitement.
Although the name Kubana sounds unpopular on the local music scene and most of his songs remain unknown, his fans were never hesitant to applaud and bombard Kubana with compliments as he stepped on stage looking sharp in a light grey jacket and straight sky-blue jeans with striped longed-sleeved shirt, which highlighted his slim physique.
As he introduced the purpose of the concert, Kubana swayed his hips and jumped to the beat of the music along with his fans until he was soaked with sweat.
The play, according to him teaches how dangerous it is to rush for quick pleasure.
The singer, who is also a songwriter, broadcaster and comedian, draws from his life experience to educate the people.
The humorous and educative play is based on real life experiences that have left so many families torn apart these days.
Kubana puts up scenes that teach different lessons; the most remarkable is one, concerns cheating amongst married couples which are common in most societies today.
Meanwhile, a movie about the play is in the pipeline.
"I think that after finishing the book, it will be translated into English and French from which a movie will be acted," Kubana said with hope.
