There have been recently new developments as far increase of water in villages is concerned. The SHIMZ Company and many others have been giving Rwanda a hand and we are very grateful to whatever they have achieved.
Some boreholes too have been dug in different areas of the country and been in general access water. But the most trying thing is that people continue to be affected by water born diseases. People have suffered from diarrhea, stomach upsets, worms, etc, which originated from contaminated water.
The problem is that people do not seem to tell the difference between clean and safer water. Let me tell the public, that we have the two and they are different, not all clean water is but all safe water is clean.
How do you drink water from a tap because it appears in your naked eyes as clean? This is common especially when it comes to the rural uneducated, they drink swamp water, tap water, boiled water but in unwashed containers and the poor people continue getting sick.
The local authorities spear headed by Bwana Afia should sensitize the people and tell them the difference between clean and safe water, so that we reduce the number of people suffering because of drinking contaminated water.
