In yesterday’s issue of The New Times, I read a story about some top officials in Gakenke District who are accused of embezzling Rwf 90 million.
The decision to suspend them is wise, however, once the investigations are complete and they are found to be guilty, they should pay back the money.
It is unfortunate that money meant for development ends up in the pockets of a few individuals. This is unacceptable and should not be tolerated at all.
