Kitoko certainly knows how to get a ‘night’ started, and he headlined the ‘Rwandan Nite’ last weekend, at Club Rough in Kampala, Uganda.

Kitoko dispensed with his Afrobeat roots, as he took to the stage with a stunning performance that enthralled his die-hard fans.

The singer belted out 10 hits, including ‘Ikiragi’, ‘Ko wanyanze’, ‘Agacecuru’ and ‘I love You’. His style of music is influenced by Afrobeat and Dancehall.

His husky voice, coupled with incredible renditions enlived the crowd. After singing his heart out, Kitoko was given a standing ovation.

The 25-year-old singer joined forces with various Ugandan artists Vamposs, also known as Vampino, Pretty Glo and Nyange culture troupe, who took to the stage with excellent routines.

To claim the entertainers gave their all is an understatement – they rocked! From the curtain raisers to main performers, fans were engrossed by brisk dancers and incredible music.

The monthly concert was initiated by George Mugabo, the CEO of Drona Entertainment Company, to promote Rwandan music and artists in Uganda and across the region.

Since its inception in October 2010, ‘Rwandan Nite’ has featured famous Rwandan artists, including Alpha and Masamba.

The singer, real name Patrick Bibarwa Kitoko, last week pulled out of the Primus Guma Guma Superstar competition due to person reasons.

The eventual winner will bag Rwf6 million, record a song in the U.S with international artist Sean Kingston and sign a one year contract with Bralirwa to promote Primus.

Kitoko is expected to perform today at the first graduation ceremony of Iwawa Rehabilitation and Vocational Training Centre.
