GATSIBO- Gatsibo Mayor, Ambrose Ruboneza, is the new chairman of Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF) in the district.
Ruboneza, who was elected last Sunday, replaces Anselme Rurangwa Majoro.
He garnered 87 percent of the votes while his challenger, Fred Kazoora Murara, received a meagre seven percent.
In his victory speech, the new RPF chairman thanked voters and called for collective efforts in building the district.
“I thank all those who have shown trust in me but I need your support in building the district,” he said.
Ruboneza announced his priorities that include implementing vision 2020 programmes and appealed to members to work hard towards its implementation.
“One of my priorities is fighting the Genocide ideology in our district. There have been cases of the ideology in schools and we must uproot it urgently,” he said.
