Singer Kizito Mihigo, on Sunday, gave one of his liveliest performances at Kigali Serena Hotel during a V.I.P concert.
Fans showed complete allegiance to Kizito and the ‘imbimburakubarusha’ star did not disappoint opting to start his set-list with a golden voice much to the delight of the colourful crowd.
His track ‘Twanze gutoberwa amateka’, the official song of this year’s commemoration, sent the crowd into a frenzy.
Earlier, Kizito had promised fans of a performance to remember and he indubitably stood by his word. However, before he hit the stage, the audience listened to an emotional testimony from one of a genocide survivor, Edouard Bamporiki, who is also an accomplished actor.
Currently, based in Bruxelles, Belgium, the 30-year-old soft spoken singer has devoted his career to the culture of peace. Since 2003, Kizito has been working for the unity and reconciliation of Rwandan nationals in Europe. He has fully dedicated himself to the message of peace, forgiveness, reconciliation and tolerance in the world. And as he has aptly christened himself, he is indeed “The Artist of God striving for peace”.
Some of the dignitaries and high-ranking government officials who attended the show include the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Louise Mushikiwabo, Ombudsman, Dr. Tito Rutaremara, Executive Secretary of Rwanda Unity, Reconciliation Commission, Dr. Jean Baptiste Habyarimana and the Rwandan Mufti, Sheikh Swaleh Habimana.
