JUNIOR Wasps star Andrew Buteera has been released by Uganda Super league side Proline FC to go for professional trials at French Ligue 1 side Rennes FC.
Proline FC head coach Mujib Kasule told Times Sport yesterday on phone from Kampala that Buteera left for France over the weekend.
“Buteera is in France undergoing trials at Rennes FC. He will spend the next two weeks there and we wish him all the best,” he said.
Rennes scouts picked interest in the youngster during the Africa Under-17 championship which was held in Kigali early this year.
Fellow teammate Charles Mwesigye Tibingana has also been linked to the French side.
Proline is currently seventh on the league table with 23 points from 15 matches.
The pair is expected to be part of Richard Tardy’s squad for the 2011 Fifa U-17 World Cup in Mexico. The tournament will run from June 18-July 10.
