Ferwacy starts talent search

THE National Cycling Federation (Ferwacy) has started scouting for the next top riders in the country according to the body’s Executive Secretary Emmanuel Murenzi. The talent search started in Gasabo yesterday where over 50 riders between the ages of 16-21 took part in a 42km race but only 17 managed to see out the race.

The talent search started in Gasabo yesterday where over 50 riders between the ages of 16-21 took part in a 42km race but only 17 managed to see out the race.

Murenzi revealed to Times Sport that the federation will carry out periodical competitions for youngsters in a bid to tap the raw talent in the country.

“We are looking for talented young riders, so we will organize competitions throughout the
21-year-old Jean Baptiste Ngiruwonsanga won the race after using 2hrs, 1 minute and 20 seconds to pocket Rwf100, 000.

Joseph Biziyaremye finished second (2:01:50) to bag Rwf80, 000 while Charles Twajamahoro had to settle for Rwf70, 000 after finishing third (2:04:58).
