NEW national cricket team coach Davis Turinawe has promised to carry on from where his predecessor stopped by ensuring Rwanda put in a good display in next month’s ICC Africa T20 Division 2 tournament in South Africa.

The team’s former coach Adam Arnold returned to Australia after helping the team win last month’s ICC Africa Division 3 T20 tournament in Ghana.

Turinawe, who started work, last week, told Times Sport that there is great talent in the team and that all that is needed is polishing.

“There is great quality in this side but we have to polish up a few things to compete favorably in South Africa,” the former Ugandan international said.

Turinawe has good coaching experience after handling Uganda’s U-19 boys’ team, U-18 girls’ team and Busoga College Mwiri, Uganda’s most decorated cricketing school.

The Division 2 tournament will run from April 23-28 and will attract ten teams.
