The former head of Rwanda Tourism Authority, Rosette Rugamba, will be among panellists at the launch of the global report on Women in Tourism.
Rugamba is now the Managing Director of Songa Africa Tourism company.
The event, to be held March 11, during the ITB Berlin Tourism Fair, is organised by the United Nation World Tourism Organisation and UN Women.
Speaking ahead of her departure to Andorra where she is participating in a high level global tourism forum, a precursor event for ITB Berlin, Rugamba described the invitation as an honour.
“It is a humbling honour and great opportunity to showcase what Rwanda has achieved in empowering women and the potential it has to be a leading tourism destination,” Rugamba said.
The Secretary General of UNWTO, Taleb Rifai will speak at the launch and Gladys Acosta, the Director Latin American Division, of UN Women is among the other panellists.
