Report on Parliament’s renovation out today

The Chamber of Deputies will, today, discuss a report on the irregularities in the renovation of Parliamentary buildings. A special committee was set up to study how the estimated Rwf 4.5bn issued for the renovation of the building and purchase of office equipment was spent.

The Chamber of Deputies will, today, discuss a report on the irregularities in the renovation of Parliamentary buildings.

A special committee was set up to study how the estimated Rwf 4.5bn issued for the renovation of the building and purchase of office equipment was spent.
The seven-member Committee is led by MP Joseph Nyandwi.

The renovations were mainly funded by the European Union.
Thomas & Piron and Fair Construction were awarded the contract to renovate the House and  Rhein Rhur International was hired to supervise the work.

The project that was meant to take 15 months took more than 35 to complete.
