RWANDA could have lost their two T20 trial games against Uganda’s select side but Adam Arnold was very pleased with the team’s fighting spirit.

Despite the huge gulf of experience and quality between the two sides, Uganda was made to work hard for their wins.

In the first game, Uganda won by three wickets.  Rwanda put on 85/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Subhasis Samal top scored with 28 runs while Eric Dusabemungu added 18.

Uganda then chased down the score for the loss of seven wickets. Dusabemungu and Desire Manirambona had two wickets each.

In the second game, Uganda made 149runs for the loss of seven wickets. In the run chase, Rwanda managed 101 for the loss of six wickets.

Samal again top scored with 34 runs while the team skipper Eric Dusingizimana added 24 runs.

“They (Uganda) have been around for sometime but I’m glad that we put up a fight. The team played with great zeal and commitment,” the Australian said.

“We still have to work on our batting but overall, I thought we did great.”

Next week, Rwanda will compete in the ICC Africa Division 3 T20 tournament in Accra, Ghana. Other teams in contention include Lesotho, Seychelles, Cameroon, St. Helena, Mali, Morocco and Gambia.
